There’s no question about it: moving is rarely the most enjoyable task. While the reasons behind a move are often exciting, the actual moving part can be tedious and time consuming. One solution that will save you time and massive headaches is to hire a moving company to do the bulk of the work for you.
If a moving company is something you decide on, there is some preparation to be done as well as some things you’ll want to pack yourself.
To make your move as smooth as possible, create (or obtain) a floor plan of your new home and a plan where your items will go. This will allow you to label rooms and boxes with the areas they will be located to. Undoubtedly, this will make it much easier for you to stay organized, and it will be easier for the movers. Moreover, it significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to turn your new house “into a home.”
You should also consider making a checklist of all the items you are packing – it never hurts to double check and make sure all of your items make it safely to your new home!
In addition to planning where your things will go in your new home (or apartment), below is an infographic detailing other items you should pack for your move; after all, these are items that you can’t afford to damage, forget to pack or misplace.
